Programs
Lecture/Workshop
Michele O’Neil Kincaid will be giving our lecture and workshop this month. The workshop will be on Extreme Texture. Embellishment like folding fabric, couching, cording and beading to enhance your piece. There is still time to sign up and enjoy the day, along with learning new techniques.
SIGs
- The Art Quilters will be meeting at 5:45pm. There will be a sign by the Teacher’s Lounge telling the location of the meeting. The instructions for the annual Challenge will be distributed. Please bring your “play practice” to discuss as well as your Show and Tell items!
- The Domestic Machine Quilting SIG will be meeting at 5:45pm in the back of the cafeteria. Jane Eyes will be the presenter and will discuss machine quilting borders. We will not be meeting in November since that is the month of the boutique. Presenters are needed for the December, January and February meetings. Please contact Helen Boland if you have a topic you would like to discuss.
- The Paper Piecing SIG will be meeting on Saturday, October 29th from 10am to 1pm at Pooa Bloomberg’s house. For further information, please contact Susan Deshensky.
Guild Challenge
The due date has been pushed back to January for submissions with a display at the February meeting, so don’t be left out! The rules and size are posted on the website. If you questions, please contact Linda Stern or Carol Weber.
Super Saturday
Would you be interested in teaching at Super Saturday on February 18, 2017? Remember a better selection of classes makes for a fun time. And what better way to get to know more members than sharing your skills. Please contact specialevents@northernstarquilters.com.
Holiday Boutique
Our annual Boutique will take place at the November meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. in the lower lobby of the school. Members will have quilt items for sale. Good place to shop for that special gift. The cost is $25 per table – you may share with a friend. Looking forward to another successful event. If you are interested in selling your work at the Boutique, please Mary Cannizzaro.
