Our member activities represent a great opportunity to share our knowledge and talents with others while getting to know one another better.

Meeting Programs

Rather than engage a professional speaker, we tap into the expertise within our own Guild and solicit members to put together a program at some of our monthly meetings.   Past offerings have included member speakers, trunk shows, demonstrations, fabric swaps, fun and games, meet-n-greet, raffles, auctions, bazaars, rummage sales ….

Quilt Challenge

We at Northern Star are a creative bunch.  Different talents and techniques abound.  Every year that creativity is put to the test with a new Challenge offered to members.  Get in on the fun !

Super Saturday

Every year around the end of February, guild members get together for a fun and productive Saturday.  Some members share their talents teaching classes on various techniques and projects.  Sign up for a class or  “Sit and Sew” on your own project. Lunch is provided by our Hospitality team.  This is a a wonderful opportunity to mingle with fellow members in a smaller social setting.  Click HERE to see this year’s schedule and offerings.

Pop-Up Tutorials

Special 1-2 hour Zoom tutorials where members can share techniques or join in short sewing projects are always a big hit.  Offer some new technique you just learned or share a skill such as fabric painting, borders, binding, machine and hand applique, hand embroidery ….
