The 2013 Challenge is being coordinated by Nancy Mirman and Joyce Sullivan. It’s a color challenge — with lots of room for creativity — and should appeal to quilters of all stripes:
Theme
Anything you want to make!
Submit your entry in the category of your choice: Traditional or Contemporary
Colors
• Solid black
• Solid white
• Black-and-white prints
• PLUS one color of your choice (The color can be a solid or print but may not have other colors within the prints.)
• Embellishment and thread work are acceptable but only in black, white or the one other color of the quilt
Size and Finishing Details
• Minimum circumference is 48”; Maximum circumference is 80”
• Any shape is acceptable (within size requirement)
• Attach a sleeve at the top of the back, at least 4” wide
• Label on back must include name of quilt, name of maker, and either phone number or e-mail address
Deadline
• Quilts will be collected at the January 2013 meeting
Voting
• Voting will take place at our February 2013 meeting
• Each member will vote for his/her two favorite quilts in each category
• A member may not cast more than one vote for a single quilt
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention Awards will be presented in each category
Additional Notes
• Only one entry per member
• Quilts must be 3 layers, quilted by the maker (by hand or machine)
