A TRIBUTE TO JOANNA ROSE and HER HUSBAND,
THINC DESIGN and AMERICAN FOLK ART MUSEUM

The spectacular display of red and white quilts at the Park Ave. Armory in NYC in March, 2011, is the inspiration for this exhibit to honor, in a small way, those who made it possible.

Choose one of three categories:

1) Make a miniature quilt in any standard pattern that is inspired by the quilts in the Rose collection.
Size – 18” wide x 24” long

2) Make an applique piece in Hawaiian or snowflake design.
Size – 18” square

3) With an eye to the future, make an Art Quilt using only reds and whites.
Size – 12” to 18” wide x 18” long
Art quilts may have embellishments – red and/or white only.

  • SIZE: Is indicated in each category
  • COLOR: Use only one (1) solid red and one (1) solid white (or muslin) in categories 1 and 2. Category 3 may use only Reds & Whites.
  • QUILTING - may be by hand or machine.
  • SLEEVE: Attach a sleeve at least 2” wide.
  • LABEL: Attach a label to the back. Label should include:

Quilt Name or Pattern Name
Maker’s Name
Phone or email

You may make more than one quilt and in more than one category.

There will be no judging or voting.

All quilts will be displayed at the 2012 World of Quilts show.

Quilts will be collected at the March, 2012 NSQG meeting.
